Pescatarianism: Failure

I failed. Miserably. The boyfriend made chicken tikka masala yesterday. He did not do it maliciously; he just had a recipe and wanted to try it. And it smelled so good.

I also had a bowling alley pretzel. It wasn't made of meat, but it might as well have been.

I also had about five diet Cokes. So last night was the night of insomnia and introspection.

Tonight, I had a Penny Club from Goodcent's. The red meat is disagreeing with my stomach. I'm filling my stomach full of chamomile tea in hopes it'll help both.

Pescatarianism: Day 6

Skipped breakfast, as I slept in late.

Lunch: sushi! Saturday is Sushi Day! Sushi Day is why I'm not going full-out vegetarian.
Had salmon skin, and some other rolls, and spicy seafood miso udon.

Dinner: leftover spicy seafood miso udon, apple, homemade cookies.

Pescatarianism: Day 5

Breakfast: coffee.

Dinner: thin crust veggie lover's pizza, breadsticks. Mint tea.

Pescatarianism: Day 4

Breakfast: I started to drink the strawberry kiwi protein water that's been haunting my fridge. I lasted for the first few sips, then let it languish on my desk. Switched to coffee. That languished too.

Lunch: Foot long tuna on wheat, provolone, standard dress, pickles. Baked chips. Diet Coke.

Dinner: Vegan chili with blue corn chips in front of the TV. Finally got the glass for the new coffee table yesterday, despite or because of Nebraska Furniture Mart's best efforts, so I ate off that. (When I'd called them on Monday, they claimed that it hadn't shipped yet)

Recipe for the chili is here.

Pescatarianism: Day 3

That protein water is going to languish in my fridge. Possibly for years.

Breakfast: coffee. I considered having oatmeal as well, but by the time I'd made up my mind, it was lunchtime. And I'd decided against it anyway.

Lunch: Ahi tuna burger and sweet potato fries, with a diet coke. This combined with the fried stuffs of last night, made me distinctly feel like I was dying.

Dinner: The last of the melon and cucumber salad, with Granny Smith added for funs. Made vegan chili. Regarded chili warily.

Pescatarianism: Day 2

Was going to have protein water for breakfast, but did not.

Breakfast: coffee.

Lunch: peanut butter sandwich again, melon and cucumber salad with a little bit of Granny Smith added for fun. Diet coke.

Dinner: fried shrimp, onion rings, french fries, coleslaw, and ice cream. Technically following the letter of the law, if not the spirit.

Pescatarianism: Day 1

I don't know how to spell what I've decided to become. The goal is to be lacto-ova-vegetarian with occasional sushi. I'll try it for a week. If that works, I'll keep it going for the rest of July.

I don't want to eat red meat, and I've been pretty good about that for the last six months. I'm getting tired of chicken, delicious though it can be. I cannot go full vegetarian as I love sushi. So, here we are.

Today's meals.

Breakfast: black coffee with Sweet and Low, same as most of my mornings. No red meat or poultry in that. No nutrients, either. Also, the potential for cancer. At work, I have these giant mugs that are really more like bowls. This is pointed out to me quite often.

Lunch: Sweet Tomatoes. Bartlett pear and walnut salad. Cottage cheese. Tapioca. Green tea. Delicious. I didn't get any of the wonderful cream of mushroom soup, because apparently it's a chicken broth. I don't want to be rude about it, but damn, dudes. You can't get veggie broth at Sweet Tomatoes? Really?

Dinner: leftover pasta salad from the weekend, and an extremely late melon and cucumber salad paired with a peanut-butter-and-banana on omega 3 whole wheat bread. More tea. Caffeine free this time.
